Melanie Day

International Artist describes Melanie Day in every sense of the word. She was born in Somerset England, immigrated to Canada in 1972, and graduated from O.C.A.D. with a degree in Fine Arts.Melanie's work is showcased across Canada, New York, Mexico, Europe, and Shanghai.

IDENTITY in figurative section.

This work is a new series inspired by  children living on the streets,homeless and in poverty,during the 1890's in Britain. These children were unknown  they had no names or identities. I proceeded to give them all new names, taken from that period in time.  Although these children are dead and gone, with there new identity there spirits can be remembered.
